more snow...

heaps and heaps of snow today

but the wrong kind of snow

to build snowmen

so we went for the wonderful snowy walk instead

finley not phased by it all

but chickens not very happy today

they elected to stay in their run or under the workshop

 a lovely christmas card scene
it was too

making sure we feed the birds

and the depth of this snowy scene was about a foot by afternoon

a good shake after the walk

good time had by all

but going to stay in the warm now

and crochet a woolly hat

happy snow greetings
to you all

ice ice baby...

frozen everywhere today,

so unfortunately

no Bethlehem Fayre for me

chicken doorstops ready for Bethlehem Fayre

very sad, as its a lovely Fayre

but the roads and lanes near
nellie and eve hq

are quite treacherous

so i will unload the car and the lovely harris tweed chicken doorstops

and the lavender filled

owls and bunnies

made from recycled fabric

and harris tweed

and continue making my own nellie and eve yarn

 by wool spinning
jacob fleeces into my very own skeins

here's a close up of the wonderful grey white and brown colours this beautiful natural fibre gives

so a productive day after all nearly enough to make mr nellie and eve a hat!

keep wrapped up warm and snug

Friday 26 November 2010

let it snow...

woke up to a very snowy scene today

all the branches on the trees

covered

in soft

cotton wool

snow

a very pretty scene

peaceful

but...

chickens do not like the snow
as they run for cover

we had to rescue them

and cover their run

to make them feel better

then we got on with the best bit of the day...
snowman making

jack and finley helping too

er...2 snowmen..2 dogs and a change of hat!

mr frosty is very happy

and we are happy too mr frosty

a happy day at nellie and eve hq
                                  keep warm and snuggley

november days...

waking up to our view at nellie and eve hq

an inversion in the valley

makes it look more like a sea

misty, murky, mild this morning after big storms

things brightened up heaps

our honeysuckle arch having survived

very strong winds over the last few days

nellie and eve have been busy making lots of lovely cosies of all kinds and they are now in the shop

Tea cosies, mug cosies and egg cosies too

a running theme I feel to keeping warm this coming winter

and a campaign to making tea in a pot always starts with a tea cosie

tea from a pot

makes an occasion

out of the good old

cuppa

and while we wait for our toast to brown

pop an egg cosie on your boiled egg

...over the last week or so
as well as crocheting cosies

 i had a birthday...

a padded heart full of
wonderful choccies

can't go wrong
with a gift like that in my book

love it

afternoon tea and antique hunting

made for a great birthday
and found something to buy too

isn't this just fab!

have a great week
